Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; (John 8:31)
Jesus spent many years teaching the disciples and others. His teachings challenged the existing state of affairs - religious, cultural, social, even political - and called all people to live by a higher standard: an eternal standard.
