God created joy, and He invites His people to enjoy it together. Having fun isn’t unspiritual—it’s often where connection and gratitude grow.
At Jacob’s Well, Small Groups are central to member care. They’re designed to function like spiritual families—where members build relationships, care for one another, learn together, serve the community, and yes… have fun together. In short, small groups help us do the work of ministry God has called each of us to do.
A few years ago, we intentionally added Play to our small groups. So groups were encouraged to:
· Learn together every other week via Zoom
· Serve in the community together once a month
· And do something fun together once a month—what we call Play
As many of you know, prioritizing time to have fun has been a challenge. And if finding the time wasn’t hard enough, agreeing on what is fun sometimes felt even harder.
Soooo… we’ve decided to set Play free from the small group box!
Starting this April, we’re introducing quarterly Interest Groups. These are groups of people—any people—who gather at least once a month to do something they all agree is fun.
This also means you’ll have the opportunity to host an Interest Group during a quarter, built around something you already enjoy. Later today, a Host Request Form will be sent out where you can submit your idea.
Then, on Sunday, March 8th, everyone will have the opportunity to sign up for an Interest Group that really floats your boat.
